ANDOVER EVENTS ...
Two more events in the Andover area take place over the next couple of months.

The Johnny Woodman Classic Ranking Singles sponsored by J.B. Motors & West Portway MOT takes place on Saturday 7 June 2008 at The Entertainer, Andover.

Winner £200 – Runner Up £100 – paying down to last 8 – Over £500 in prize money plus ranking points for the 2009 Transplus Classic

Open to all players, entry fee is £5, Cheques payable to Andover Invitation Darts c/o The Entertainer, King Arthurs Way, Andover SP10 4BS.

Registration before 11.30 a.m. for a 12.15 p.m. start..

First 2 rounds best of 7 x 501, thereafter best of 9 x 501, semi finals and finals on stage.

First 64 entries only – Closing date – 5 June 2008.

The John Taylor Memorial – 2-player-Team Event sponsored by EPC with Us takes place on Saturday 5 July at The Entertainer, Andover.

Winners £200 – Runners Up £100 – paying down to last 8 – Over £500 in prize money plus ranking points for the 2009 Transplus Classic.

FROME OPEN ...
THE 2008 Frome Open takes place at Frome Town FC on Sunday 25 May 2008 with a £3,000 prize fund. £1200 winner, £600 runner-up, semi-finals £200, quarters £50 and last sixteen £25.

A separate ladies competition will be held with £100 winner, £50 runner up and semi-finals £25.

Doors open 10.30 a.m. Registration 11.00 a.m. Draw 11.30 a.m. for a 12.00 noon start.

Advance entries Men £10, £15 on the day, Ladies £3, £5 on the day. Entries by phone to 07773933576.


NEWPORT OPEN ...
There is a Newport Open event on the Isle of Wight at the Ambassador Free House, Gunville Road, Newport on Sunday 29 June 2008.

Men's first prize £400, runner-up £200, Ladies' first prize £150, runner-up £75.

BLUE SQUARE UK OPEN HOLSTEN PUB QUALIFIER REGIONAL FINALS ...
11 May 2008 - MARTIN WADE is pipped at the post in his attempt to join his son James at the Bolton finals. He enjoys a run to the last qualifying match at the South East regional final but is denied by Paul McDine.

BLUE SQUARE UK OPEN HOLSTEN PUB QUALIFIER REGIONAL FINALS ...
10 May 2008 - SAM ROONEY will be back at the UK Open finals next month after winning through the South West regional final at Burnham-on-Sea this afternoon.

Last year, Rooney was the only qualifier to make it to the last 32 before Richie Burnett ended his run.


MAY DAY DARTS WEEKEND ...
5 May 2008 - SUE SMEE reaches the quarter finals of the Ladies Singles held at Hemsby. Former Hampshire stars Laura Turner and Mandy Solomons are also well placed, Turner making the last eight and Solomons the last four.

TONY HUTCHINSON makes the last sixteen of the Men's event but is beaten by Ian Brand.

Dawn Standley wins the Ladies Singles and Brian Woods wins the Men's Singles.


KEITH GOACHER CLASSIC ...
4 May 2008 - DENNIS MURRELL wins the Keith Goacher Classic at the Entertainer, Andover.

He beats Paul Hogan in the final. Johnny Haines and Kev Ede reach the semi-finals.


BRITISH MASTERS ...
3 May 2008 - All three Hampshire representatives fall in their first matches of this new event held at Hemsby.

TONY HUTCHINSON loses 3-1 to Dan Tatum in the last 16 while RON ATWILL is edged out 3-2 by Stuart Seaton.

SUE SMEE is beaten 3-2 by Tricia Wright in the Ladies' event.

28 men and 25 lady county winners take part in the national finals. Paul Crawford beats Mark Cairney in the Men's final and Dawn Standley beats Tricia Wright in the Ladies' final.


WHYTE & MACKAY PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS ...
1 May 2008 - JAMES WADE beats World Champion John Part by 8-5 in the last regular match of the season at Newcastle and assures himself of at least £40,000 in prize money.

Wade finishes second in the league table from which the top four progress to the semi-finals.

Wade will now play World number one Raymond van Barneveld in his semi-final at Cardiff on Monday 26 May in his quest to take the title and the £100,000 top prize. The winner of every previous Premier League title, Phil Taylor takes on Adrian Lewis in the other match.

BRITISH INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP...
27 April 2008 - HAMPSHIRE retain their place in the Premier Division by a single point.

The Ladies A team are beaten 4-2 and the Men's A lose 9-3.

The overall defeat of 21-15 is still enough to see the county stay above Cornwall who can only manage 16 points from their visit to Kent.


AMSTERDAMS CASINO OPEN HOLLAND MASTERS ...
26 April 2008 - COLIN MONK reaches the last 32 at Schiedam but is edged out by Matt Clark.

Ian Jopling loses in the last 64 to Steve Beaton as Raymond van Barneveld wins his first Pro Tour event of 2008.


BRITISH INTER COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP...
26 April 2008 - HAMPSHIRE lead by 10-8 overnight in the final fixture of the season away to Cheshire.

The Ladies B draw 3-3 and the Men's B have a vital 7-5 win in the county's fight against relegation.


WHYTE & MACKAY PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS ...
24 April 2008 - JAMES WADE is beaten 8-6 by Raymond van Barneveld at the Odyssey Arena, Belfast. He drops to second in the table, a point behind Phil Taylor with one week of the regular season left.

THE SCOTTISH SUN SCOTTISH PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP ...
19 April 2008 - COLIN MONK reaches the last 32 of the event at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow before losing to Jason Barry.

Ricky Williams makes the last 64 but is beaten by Mick McGowan.

Mervyn King wins the £5,000 first prize, ending Phil Taylor's string of successes on the way.


BRIAN FOX AND BOB ANDERSON SNR MEMORIAL EVENTS ...
19 April 2008 - The Brian Fox Memorial Singles and Bob Anderson Snr Memorial Pairs events took place at the Academy Snooker Club in Basingstoke in aid of the Heart of Darts Charity.

The Bob Anderson Snr Memorial Pairs saw Johnny Haines and Martin Richell winbeating Steve Shadwell and Geoff Heath 3-2 in the final. The losing semi-finalists were Kevan Merritt and John Brine and Mike Tee and Chris Harrodine.

Rob Hare from the Isle of Wight won the Brian Fox Memorial Singles beating Danny Ballard by 4-2 in the final. Losing in the last four were Danny Smith and Paul Andrews.

Organiser John Bartlett was delighted with the third such event which raised close to £300 for the Heart of Darts charity and the Academy Snooker Centre have confirmed their support for a fourth event in 2009.

ANDOVER NEWS ...
Two more 64 man events are taking place in Andover soon

The Keith Goacher Classic on Saturday 3 May and the Johnny Woodman Classic on Saturday 8 June.

17 April 2008 - JAMES WADE stays top of the table after an 8-6 win over Peter Manley at Wembley Arena.

ARCHER'S LONDON MASTERS DARTS CLASSIC...
16 April 2008 - JAMES WADE is beaten 7-4 by Phil Taylor in the final at London's prestigious Café Royal.

Over 300 Guests attend the black tie event held in association with the National Sporting Club.

Wade had earlier beaten Raymond van Barneveld 5-2 to reach the final.


ENGLISH OPEN AND ENGLISH SINGLES ...
13 April 2008 - PAUL GIBBS reaches the last eight of the National Singles at Selsey.

Sam Rooney and Paul Hogan both make the last 16 and Nikki Stevens reaches the last 16 of the ladies event.

Wendy Reinstadtler teams up with Linda Ithurralde to take the English Open Ladies Pairs event during the holiday park weekend.


WHYTE & MACKAY PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS ...
10 April 2008 - JAMES WADE produces a remarkable fightback from 4-0 down to win 8-5 against Wayne Mardle in front of a record 8000 crowd at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

The win makes sure he stays top of the table with just three games to go and guarantees him a place in the Cardiff finals at the end of May.


BRITISH INTERNATIONALS ...
6 April 2008 - There is little joy for the two Hampshire players in international action at Renfrew today.

Paul Hogan loses to Martin Phillips 3-2 and Danny Cunningham 3-1.

Roy Brown is beaten by Gareth Holt 3-2 and John Henderson 3-0.
