The Johnny Woodman Classic Ranking
Singles sponsored by J.B. Motors & West Portway MOT takes place on
Saturday 7 June 2008 at The Entertainer, Andover.
Winner £200 – Runner Up £100 – paying down to last 8 – Over £500 in
prize money plus ranking points for the 2009 Transplus Classic
Open to all players, entry fee is £5, Cheques payable to Andover

Registration before 11.30 a.m. for a 12.15 p.m. start..
First 2 rounds best of 7 x 501, thereafter best of 9 x 501, semi

The John Taylor Memorial – 2-player-Team Event sponsored by EPC with
Us takes place on Saturday 5 July at The Entertainer, Andover.

THE 2008 Frome Open takes place at
Frome Town FC on Sunday 25 May 2008 with a £3,000 prize fund. £1200
winner, £600 runner-up, semi-finals £200, quarters £50 and last
sixteen £25. A separate
ladies competition will be held with £100 winner, £50 runner up and
semi-finals £25.
Doors open 10.30 a.m. Registration
11.00 a.m. Draw 11.30 a.m. for a 12.00 noon start.

will be back at the UK Open finals next month after winning through
the South West regional final at Burnham-on-Sea this afternoon.
Last year, Rooney was the only
qualifier to make it to the last 32 before Richie Burnett ended his

of the Men's event but is beaten by Ian Brand.

Hampshire representatives fall in their first matches of this new
event held at Hemsby. TONY
HUTCHINSON loses 3-1 to Dan Tatum in the last 16 while RON ATWILL is
edged out 3-2 by Stuart Seaton.
SUE SMEE is beaten 3-2 by Tricia
Wright in the Ladies' event.
28 men and 25 lady county winners
take part in the national finals. Paul Crawford beats Mark Cairney
in the Men's final and Dawn Standley beats Tricia Wright in the
Ladies' final. |

beats World Champion John Part by 8-5 in the last regular match of
the season at Newcastle and assures himself of at least £40,000 in
prize money. Wade finishes
second in the league table from which the top four progress to the
semi-finals.
Wade will now play World number one
Raymond van Barneveld in his semi-final at Cardiff on Monday 26 May
in his quest to take the title and the £100,000 top prize. The
winner of every previous Premier League title, Phil Taylor takes on
Adrian Lewis in the other match. |

ANDERSON SNR MEMORIAL EVENTS ... |
19 April 2008 - The Brian
Fox Memorial Singles and Bob Anderson Snr Memorial Pairs events took
place at the Academy Snooker Club in Basingstoke in aid of the Heart
of Darts Charity.
The Bob Anderson Snr Memorial Pairs saw Johnny Haines and Martin
Richell winbeating Steve Shadwell and Geoff Heath 3-2 in the final.
The losing semi-finalists were Kevan Merritt and John Brine and Mike
Tee and Chris Harrodine.
Rob Hare from the Isle of Wight won the Brian Fox Memorial Singles
beating Danny Ballard by 4-2 in the final. Losing in the last four
were Danny Smith and Paul Andrews.
Organiser John Bartlett was delighted with the third such event
which raised close to £300 for the Heart of Darts charity and the
Academy Snooker Centre have confirmed their support for a fourth
event in 2009. |
